Moa Madness/Eagle Encounter is an outside nature-based game to speaks to species decline and conservation. Looking at the extinct Moa, the parent Moa must go find the last remaining eggs and return them to the cave, where the Moa nests. But! They must be careful crossing the eagle's territory to avoid the wrath of the Haast eagle, hungry for their eggs to feed their chicks! Through costume, imagination and movement, we step foot into the wetland environment of over four centuries ago where the species roamed.
The Game design has a patchwork and textile aesthetic - inspired by my childhood when my Grandma would patchwork pants, pillows and duvets to make pillow forts. I wanted to have the game feel as though Nana had especially made it for you, hence the "fort" cave, patchwork finish on the bush cutouts, patched moa eggs, Patchwork moa cave cover and socks "clothesline" acting as a boundary in the game.
